Classical Guitar, 1984, commissioned by Angel Romero.

Description:
A recently re-acquired guitar, made 41 years ago, (1984) , originally commissioned by Angel Romero, after a meeting at the Wigmore Hall , after the final performance of the "Romeros Quartet ' European tour, in 1984, or possibly in 1983. This guitar was made to the specification of Angel, has a normal 65 cms scale length, and a slightly wider fingerboard. but using my own 'plantilla' which I sometimes used in those days, with a barring system I do not normally use. (They had many ideas then about guitar construction, including the use of an internal violin type 'soundpost', this last addition I did not fit.). This guitar was the result of that meeting. I do not know how often Angel used this guitar. The condition after 41 years is amazing, with few or virtually no signs of wear. The original Rodgers tuners have been removed somewhere in the history, and it is now fitted with a much lower grade of tuner, but if any buyer want to have the Rodgers ( recommended) I will order in a new custom set and supply/fit at my cost price. Both prices are specified below. A clear sweet well- centred tone, even, and an easy action. The guitar comes fully serviced, polish refreshed, frets levelled and checked, ready to play. Sold with a case, as yet not sourced. Available now, and with a valid Art 10 Cites certificate as required to supply on sale.

Condition Details:
No real signs of wear or use, the polish refreshed, a couple of tiny marks in the table, no repairs, or cracks. Non-original tuners fitted, but Rodgers were fitted when new: a new set can be supplied, at cost. All serviced, checked, ready to play. My normal ' lifetime warrantee' (available only to the original owner,) does not apply, as the guitar has passed through a few owners over the 41 years, all in California. A lovely aged spruce top, edged with custom handmade half 'herring bone' around the top, custom rosette, and neck/head of mahogany, using the 'usual for me' V join. Head veneer Ebony, back and sides of highest grade Indian Rosewood. CITES to be supplied when sold. Fitted with Aquila strings. Serial number: 189, year 1984.
